The Imporvements in our Div 1 team continued and were very unfortunate to come out of this game as loosers.  20-25 first set, 19-25 second set, 25-14 third set, 13-25 final set.

Boathouse Volleyball Club will now be playing their home matches in a brand new venue, Thornhill Sports Centre. This is a new sports hall with a sprung wooden floor, built with money from the Big Lottery Fund. The sports hall is attached to the Community Science College at Thornhill (formerly Thornhill High School), but is also available for outside bookings through Dewsbury Sports Centre.

Boathouse will making links with the local schools, to develop the next generation of volleyball players. If you want to play volleyball, at whatever level contact us and come along to one of our training sessions. During the volleyball season (Sept - April), the men train at Thornhill on a Wednesday night and the women train in Brighouse on a Thursday night. There is an open session at the same venue and time as the women's training. Local league matches are played on a Sunday evening, at Thornhill. Shared transport to training and matches can usually be arranged, from almost anywhere in West Yorkshire.

 

Directions:

Follow signs for Dewsbury Sports Centre. Turn L at 3rd traffic lights opposite the bus station, by church, in the L filter lane onto Wilton Road (B6409 sp Savile Town, Thornhill). Straight on at 2 traffic lights (Savile Road). Straight on at double mini roundabout. Carry straight on for about 1.5 miles (B6117 sp Barnsley), passing 2 pubs, the Alma and the Savile Arms. Turn R into Valley Road (signposted Community Science College at Thornhill). Take 2nd R into Partridge Crescent also signposted. Next R into Valley Drive. The entrance to school is quite hidden, about 200 yards on R. Sports Centre and parking is on your R.

The sports centre is part of The Community Science College at Thornhill, formerly Thornhill High School.
