  • Young players start on a win!
    Laurent Zeiller - Sunday, 31 October 2010
Boathouse Ladies have played today their most accomplished game in the league, beating a solid team of York comprehensively, 3 sets to 0. The game also saw the first cap of two young new players. Emilia Gizewska, from Halifax, follows in the footsteps of her sister Ola, who played with the team last year but has now moved to University. She played the full game, showing strong awareness hitting on the wing. At only 16, Emilia is a bright prospect for the team, and has been recently accepted into the Yorkshire under 16 squad training. Maria Makkoula, who also plays for Huddersfield University, is the other player who has started in this game. Playing as a setter, Maria made a confident entry in the second set and the team finished the game strongly with a score of 25-12 in the final set! We wish Maria, Emilia and the rest of the team more success throughout the season.
